Facebook top execs among a dozen new investors in Indian e-commerce; who are they?

Indian e-commerce sector attracted unprecedented interest from investors in 2014. The sector saw $2.7 billion worth investment in 46 deals in 2014 till now compared to just $575 million that came in last year from 49 deals, according to VCCEdge, the research platform of VCCircle.

Apart from traditional venture capital and private equity firms, the big movers of capital to the sector included large hedge funds, multifamily asset management firms, and sovereign wealth funds. The list also includes Iconiq Capital, a global multi-family office operating as an independent investment advisor. According to a report, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg are clients of Iconiq Capital.
