NASDAQ-listed Exl Service Holdings Inc (EXL), one of the top 10 BPO firms in India, has acquired New York-based Blue Slate Solutions, LLC, for an undisclosed amount, to expand its business process management capabilities.

Blue Slate is a management and technology consultancy firm that helps in transforming operations through change management leadership, business process optimisation and data integration expertise, improving organisations use of data to inform better decisions.

“This acquisition brings us a set of domain experts who have significant experience advising large enterprises, optimising their business processes and also architecting and implementing changes to their technology applications and infrastructure. Blue Slate has an admirable track record across many industries, and we are very excited to welcome our new colleagues to EXL,” said Rohit Kapoor, vice chairman and chief executive officer, EXL Service.

EXL recently unveiled its Business EXLerater Framework, which combines operations management expertise, analytics and technology tools to reduce costs and improve performance for clients. The Blue Slate acquisition strengthens EXL’s overall operations management offerings.

“Joining EXL is a natural fit for Blue Slate. We have a partner with a strategic vision, financial strength and execution expertise that blends with our team and view of the market,” said Rick Barnett, chief executive officer, Blue Slate.

Blue Slate has worked for over 20 Health Plans in all aspects of their operations, including care management, provider management, sales, service and claims.  Blue Slate also has domain experience and success in delivering value within the insurance, financial services and manufacturing industries.
