Mumbai-based Deltecs InfoTech Pvt. Ltd, which runs an enterprise mobile app platform DronaHQ, has raised $500,000 in a second round of angel funding from Kutchi Angel Network, a company executive told TechCircle.
The company had previously raised $500,000 from the same angel group in 2011.
The 10-year-old profitable company will use the new funds to create its sales team in the US and South East Asia. It has so far sold indirectly in these markets through its partner network, which comprises mostly IT services companies.
Founded in 2007 by former Wipro executives Jinen Dedhia and Divyesh Kharade, DronaHQ helps corporates build enterprise apps for mobile platforms. It employs around 55 people and plans to strengthen its workforce to 75 employees by the middle of this year. âWe will start with our own marketing team to cater to the existing demand before expanding our own sales team," Dedhia told TechCircle. Around 80% of the companyâs revenue comes from its India operations.
DronaHQ has so far created more than 1,000 enterprise mobile apps and can build 500 such apps every year. "A lot of companies need to do digital transformation internally too for interacting with their own employees. This is more pertinent for India because we are a mobile-first country," said Dedhia.
Kutchi Angel Network was founded by the Navneet Group, Gala Group, Arti Industries, Antara Jewellers and Anchor Group in 2009. The angel network supports entrepreneurs from the Kutch district of Gujarat state and invests between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 5 crore in each startup.
âWe believe DronaHQ is addressing a key challenge for enterprises in mobility, considering the proliferation of apps and bring-your-own-device (BYOD) culture,â said Sunil Gala, managing director of Navneet Group.
DronaHQ has more than 500,000 users and 200 customers such as Colgate, Thomas Cook, Future Group, Essar, TCS, HP and the Murugappa Group among others.
IT services major Wipro is also a sales and system integration partner apart from being a customer for DronaHQ. âWe have 95,000 users using the âmy-Wipro appâ regularly, which itself is a huge adoption. We have successfully rolled out our mobility plans with the help of DronaHQ," said Raja Ukil, chief information officer at Wipro. Through the DronaHQ platform, Wipro integrated 30 existing and 20 newly built services onto its app.
