Instant content transfer app Plick.it raises angel funding

New Age Networks Pvt Ltd, which runs instant content transfer app Plick.it, has secured an undisclosed amount in seed funding from angel investor Sanjay Mehta.

The Mumbai-based startup will use the money raised to develop its offerings for multiple browsers and operating systems, besides upgrading its server for quicker response time, said Kapil Sanghavi, Plick.it’s founder.

Plick.it allows users to transfer up to 100 images, web links or text messages from browsers to devices and vice versa. The app is currently available for download on Google Chrome, Play Store and the App Store. Sanghavi claims that Evernote and OneNote are Plick.it’s competitors.

“Plick.it solves the basic problem of moving and managing content from multiple devices. It will be a pervasive utility on all mobiles going forward,” said Mehta, who has investments in about 40 startups.

Besides transferring images and text, users can also access various channels via the app to stay updated on news or information. This benefits organisations that want to share information via channels other than messaging services and emails.

However, users can subscribe to only one broadcast channel for free. Plick.it will earn revenue by charging users for subscribing to more than one broadcasting channel. For organisations, the number of subscribers will be limited, and channel owners must upgrade to avail of more followers.

Sanghavi said he will focus on developing the broadcast channel offering for offices and even schools.

Plick.it will serve customers in B2B sales and services, B2C retail, e-commerce, HR and payroll, education and training, finance and banking, events and B2C marketing.

Plick.it was founded by Sanghavi in February 2015. He previously worked at Growthwell Consulting Pvt Ltd and has 15 years of experience in internet technologies, digital marketing and website development.

Mehta, a serial entrepreneur-turned-investor, focuses his investments in early-stage companies across various sectors such as big data, marketing automation, productivity enhancement, location services, quick services restaurants and medical devices. He, however, avoids investing in marketplaces, e-commerce platforms and home services startups.

Mehta is a member of the Indian Angel Network, Mumbai Angels, B2B 1K Ventures and Venture Nursery. His portfolio of investments include Poncho (Box8.in), Unbxd, Prettysecrets.com, Oravel (OYOIn) and Interview Master (TalView). His latest investment was in Bangalore-based Green Enabled IT Solutions Pvt Ltd, which operates IT reverse logistics startup Blubirch.

Mehta's most recent entrepreneurial venture was MAIA Intelligence, which last year was sold to publicly-listed Datamatics Global Services.
