AppilyEver.com raises $400K in angel funding

Hyderabad-based With Ease Technologies India Pvt Ltd, which operates an integrated wedding services provider AppilyEver.com, has raised $400,000 (around Rs 2.75 crore) funding led by Varun Aggarwal, founder and COO of Univariety, and other angel investors.

“The funding raised will be used for technology upgrade, product ramp-up and marketing,” Rakesh Gupta, co-founder, AppilyEver.com, told Techcircle.in.

Other investors who put money in the round include Suresh Venkat (CTO, Agility Solutions) and Raj Y (MD, People Combine).

The company was co-founded in October 2015 by Gupta, an ISB alumnus and former McKinsey executive, and Sumit Handa, a Symbiosis alumnus and former ITC executive. Besides McKinsey, Gupta has worked with Microsoft and People Combine. He had earlier co-founded OrderMonger.com, an online food and grocery ordering platform. Besides ITC, Handa has worked with Tata Global Beverages, Saint-Gobain and People Combine.

AppilyEver.com works with would be brides and grooms to provide solutions to their needs before and after the marriage. Its offering includes a wedding commerce store, a wedding app with social and planning features and expert advice.

Since inception, the company has been able to build a curated list of 2,000 plus products across more than 10 categories, including wedding wear, photography, make-up services, mehendi, catering, etc.

The firm’s app serves as a social platform for would be brides and grooms to invite their friends and family, share updates and pictures, create events and even receive relevant tips to plan and manage the wedding. The app has seen more than 1,000 downloads and the company claims to have an average run-rate of 10-12 weddings getting created on the app daily.

In February 2016, Weddingz.com, an online marketplace for wedding venues and vendors, raised an undisclosed amount in pre-Series A funding from consumer-centric venture fund Sixth Sense Ventures.

In September 2015, wedding planning portal WedMeGood raised seed funding worth Rs 2.7 crore ($407,200) from Indian Angel Network.

Others in the Indian online wedding planning space include WeddingPlz, PlanningWale and FullOnShaadi.
