SkillConnect, a recruitment portal, has raised an undisclosed amount of investment from Rajasthan Angel Investor Network, a top company executive told VCCircle.
The company will use the capital to bring on board more companies and institutes, improve technology infrastructure, hire more people, and enter new geographies, co-founder Shipra Bhutani said.
SkillConnect, run by Capacita Connect Pvt. Ltd, was founded in May last year by IIM Calcutta alumnus Shipra Bhutani and Nimish Bhutani, who both have considerable experience in education, training and skill-building.
The company, which caters to as many as 30 sectors, helps skilled jobseekers find employment. It claims to have 50,000 skilled workers and 10,000 companies registered in just 10 months of operations.
Rajasthan Angel Investor Network has also invested in companies such as online store for natural products Organic Shop, digital media company Blue Box Media, enterprise-tech firm Black Box, machine learning-based news app Hotify, kids content delivery platform Toko Innovations, ed-tech startup Edgefx Technologies, social network for writers Kalaage Creations, education management portal EShiksa, and realty startup 14Square Service Apartments.
Other startups in the human resources space that recently raised funds include Darwin Digital Solutions Pvt Ltd, which raised $4 million (Rs 25.79 crore) in Series A funding led by Lightspeed India Partners. The firm offers a cloud-based management platform that automates HR processes such as recruitment, payroll and employee engagement.
In May, staffing firm TeamLease Services Ltd agreed to acquire a 30% stake in Bengaluru-based Cassius Technologies Pvt. Ltd, which runs job site Freshersworld.
In June, online classifieds firm Quikr acquired blue-collar jobs listing company Babajob Services Pvt. Ltd. Aasaanjobs, a Noida-based recruitment marketplace focused on blue-collar jobs, is another startup in the space.
