Everstone Capital on Friday said it has appointed Vibhor Kumar Talreja as a managing director to lead the private equity firm's financial services sector.
Talreja, who will be based out of Mumbai, joins Everstone from Temasek Holdings, where he was director on the India team of the Singapore state investor. He joined Temasek India in 2007 where he led decisions on investments and divestments of over $2 billion each across private and public transactions, Everstone said in a statement. Apart from financial services, he has also been involved in industrials, consumer, real estate and telecom sectors, it added.
Talreja, an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and IIM Bangalore, had worked with JM Morgan Stanley and Tata Administrative Services before his 12-year stint at Temasek.
Everstone has made other senior level appointments earlier this year.
In April, Everstone appointed Suneel Kaji as a managing director at its New York office.
The following month, Everstone roped in Suresh Vaswani, a former top executive at IT giants including IBM, Dell and Wipro, to boost its play in the technology sector.
Meanwhile, Everstone has sued two former managing directors for allegedly stealing data, VCCircle reported last month.
Everstone, which has private equity and real estate funds, was founded in 2006. Its existing offices are located in Singapore, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Mauritius, New York and London. The firm currently has over $5 billion in assets under management.
