Everstone hires top Goldman Sachs executive as group CEO

Private equity firm Everstone Group has appointed a top executive from Goldman Sachs, L Brooks Entwistle as a Partner and Group CEO.  

Brooks was most recently Partner of Goldman Sachs where he spent 22 years in various capacities, including 15 years based in Asia. Most recently, he was Chairman of Goldman Sachs Southeast Asia as well as CEO of Goldman Sachs Singapore. Prior to this, he spent five years in Mumbai as CEO and Founder of Goldman Sachs India where he was responsible for leading and building the firm across all divisions. Brooks has also served as Co-Head of Goldman Sachs Asia’s High Technology Group. 

He holds an AB from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is currently a board member of Aspen Institute, EmancipAction and Young Life.

Based in Singapore, Brooks will oversee the day-to-day management of the firm as well as lead cross-border transactions and large deal origination. Brooks will also join the firm’s Partnership Committee where he will work closely with and provide significant support to his fellow Everstone Partners - Dhanpal Jhaveri, Jaspal Singh Sabharwal, PM Devaiah and Rajesh Jaggi.

Recently, Everstone Capital elevated one of its existing team members, Amit Manocha, as managing director while one of its other managing directors, Sachin Chopra, quit the firm. 

Headquartered in Singapore, Everstone has 130 employees across five offices (Singapore, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Mauritius) and manages approximately $2 billion.

The firm, started in 2006 by former Goldman Sachs bankers Atul Kapur and Sameer Sain, also has Rahul Nair and Arun Patkie as managing directors for the real estate investments vertical which is currently involved with IndoSpace, an industrial warehouse investment fund jointly managed along with North American industrial real estate investment firm Realterm Global.
