Pune-based Dyulok Technologies Pvt Ltd, the company behind event ticketing platform Townscript.com, has raised an undisclosed amount in angel funding from multiple investors including Carlyle Groupâs MD Mahesh Parasuraman; MindTickleâs co-founder Mohit Garg; and Nipam Shah, founder, NRS Advisors.
The funds will be used by the company for increasing sales of tickets, expanding into major cities across the country, as well as for product development.
The company was founded last year by the duo of Sachin Sharma and Sanchit Malik. Prior to starting Townscript, Sharma had co-founded a mobile app development company in the content and utility domain, while Malik was working with a travel startup.
Townscript is a do-it-yourself (DIY) event registration platform that allows its clients to create an event registration/ticketing page, as well as a mobile event app within minutes. It claims of have already served over 1,000 event organisers including HandaKaFunda, E-Summit IIT-Bombay, Rubyconf India, Mood Indigo, Startup Leadership Program, and Pune International Marathon, among others.
In this space, the company competes with the likes of BookMyShow, which had scooped up $25 million from SAIF Partners, besides Accel Partners and Network18; and MeraEvents that had earlier raised $1 million from US-based OMICS.
