Emkay Global Financial Services Ltd has appointed Vikas Sachdeva as the new chief executive officer at unit Emkay Investment Managers Ltd.

Sachdeva has joined from Enam Asset Management Co. Pvt. Ltd where he was the chief executive officer, Emkay Global said in a statement.

Emkay Global managing director KK Karwa said Sachdeva would help the company with its next growth phase. “His proficiency and expertise will be of immense value in building a progressive team, deepening our expertise and will continue to add value to the investors,” Karwa said.

Sachdeva said he was looking forward to working with the Emkay management to bring the best possible options for investors in the country.

An alumnus of Narsee Monjee Institute of Commerce and Research, Sachdeva was the CEO at Edelweiss Asset Management before being appointed as Enam AMC CEO.

He has served as a board member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s Mutual Fund Advisory Committee. He also worked as a director on the board of the Association of Mutual Funds of India and headed the Exchange Traded Funds committee.

His appointment comes after Emkay Global hired Yatin Singh in March this year to head its investment banking division. Singh joined from Motilal Oswal Financial Services, and told VCCircle that his role would involve building a primary market franchise in the investment banking segment by drawing upon Emkay’s existing institutional client base.

Founded in 1995, Emkay Global’s business verticals include investment banking, institutional broking, private wealth management and financial products distribution.

Emkay Investment is a SEBI-registered portfolio manager that began operations in 2003. Its team consists of fund managers, research and wealth advisers and associates. It offers customised advisory services to high-net-worth individuals, non-resident Indians and corporate investors.
