Eight Roads Ventures, the investment arm of Fidelity International, has appointed former Goldman Sachs executive Shweta Bhatia as partner for its India team.
A 13-year industry veteran, Bhatia will be based out of the firmâs Mumbai office, and focus on backing technology, consumer and financial services companies, Eight Roads Ventures said in a statement.
Bhatia was head of Asia investments at Goldman Sachs Investment Partners for its venture capital and growth equity teams. She had started her career at the global financial institutionâs New York City office, followed by three years at US-based Warburg Pincus, before returning to Goldman Sachs in 2010.
Kabir Narang, who had joined global tech fund B Capital Group last year, was leading investments in technology, consumer and financial services at the PE firm.
Eight Roads Ventures, formerly Fidelity Growth Partners India, invests in companies in India and South-East Asia across technology, healthcare, financial services and consumer sectors.
It has invested in several companies, including online lending platform EarlySalary, eye care products retail chain Specsmakers, healthcare technology startup eKincare and biopharmaceutical company PlasmaGen BioSciences.
