Edelweiss ropes in Ashish Tripathi from E&Y as investment banking head for TMTE

Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd has brought in Ashish Tripathi from Ernst & Young (E&Y) as head of investment banking - TMTE (telecom, media, technology and entertainment) vertical of the company.

Tripathi, who has around one-and-a-half decades of experience in corporate finance and M&A, will be responsible for coverage and execution in the TMTE sector across all product lines at Edelweiss.

At E&Y, he was the associate director of the TCE/TMTE vertical. Prior to E&Y, Tripathi worked with Avendus Capital as vice-president, Fairfax Media as corporate development manager and Mincom as group manager among other companies.

He has also global experience in working with investment banks and firms across North America, Europe, Southeast Asia and Australia.

Tripathi, who holds an MBA degree from Melbourne Business School, previously played a role in transactions such as Jagran Prakashan’s acquisition of Nai Dunia, Blackstone’s investment in FINO and Sequoia Capital’s investment in Just Dial.
