Law firm Dua Associates has promoted seven lawyers to partnership, taking the total number of partners to 67.
The decision, made last week, comes into effect from 1 April, it said in a statement on Thursday.
Three of the new partners--Ashish Singh, Ritu Singh Ghumman and VD Gulwaniâare based out of the firmâs Delhi office. Shradha Dubey, Punish Arora and Ami Ranjan work from Gurugram while Pramod Gharge is based out of Pune.
The firm didnât mention the practice area of the new partners.
Established in 1986, Dua Associates offers services in areas include litigation and dispute resolution, real estate, competition, defence, M&A, private equity, technology, media and telecommunications.
Dua Associates has offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Gurugram, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Chennai, its website shows.
A number of law firms have announced new partners in the past couple of months.
In April, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. promoted Meghna Rajadhyaksha, Smarika Singh and Gauri Chhabra to salaried partners, taking its partnership strength to 103.
In the same month, DSK Legal promoted Chandrima Mitra, Hemang Parekh and Pritha Jha to salaried partners, taking its partnership strength to 15.
In March, Trilegal had promoted two of its counsels, Soumya Hariharan and Arnav Dayal, as equity partners. The two appointments take Trilegalâs partnership strength to 42.
In the same month, HSA Advocates had hired Rajdeep Choudhury as partner to strengthen its practice in disputes resolution and claims and disputes management in infrastructure and energy projects.
