DFJ’s Sachin Maheshwari Joins Zephyr Peacock As Director

Sachin Maheshwari, a principal at the India office of venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson, has joined SME-focused private equity firm Zephyr Peacock Management. Maheshwari joins as a director at the Bangalore office of the PE firm. Zephyr Peacock has raised two India-focused funds and is led by managing director Mukul Gulati.

Maheshwari will look after deal origination, evaluation, structuring and portfolio monitoring activities at Zephyr. He was working with Silicon Valley VC firm Opus Capital before joining DFJ's India office in 2008. At DFJ, Maheshwari sat on board of investments like Catura   (Topchalks)and mGinger. He received an MBA from the Wharton Business School and has B. Tech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology.

Zephyr Peacock is part of Zephyr Management, L.P, a global private equity and marketable securities firm which has sponsored twenty-two investment funds worth $1.8 billion across the world. The firm has made six investments in India, with the latest coming as a $10-million    infusion in IT solutions provider Trimax IT Infrastructure and Services. Earlier this year, it invested Rs 22.5 crore ($4.5 million) in Metro Wireless Engineering India Pvt Ltd, a telecom services  company.

Other portfolio firms include Time Technoplast (a polymer products firm), WLC India (a vocational training provider), Maxop Engineering (a die-casting firm) and Miles Software (a financial services software firm).
