Data analytics firm Scienaptic raises funds from former Genpact head

Data analytics firm Scienaptic Systems Inc. has received an undisclosed amount of funding from Genpact founder and former Nasscom chairman Pramod Bhasin. The two-year-old startup is headquartered in New York and has an engineering centre in Bengaluru.

"The investments will enable Scienaptic to continue developing its unique big data platform, Ether," Scienaptic Systems said in a statement on Monday. "The platform can infuse intelligence in the way organisations decipher customer behaviour patterns, design intelligent interventions and create real value in delivering a superior customer experience," it added.

Scienaptic was founded by Pankaj Kulshreshtha, who worked with Bhasin in creating and scaling an over 6,000 people analytics business at Genpact. Kulshreshtha spent about 20 years in the analytics space before founding Scienaptic in May 2014.

"Scienaptic was created to evolve new platform to deliver customer intelligence and impact from big data and machine learning. Given the need for fresh thinking, I knew that a regular VC would not do. We are absolutely delighted that Pramod chose to invest in us. He is helping us build Scienaptic vision and capabilities with his rich perspective on future of work, technology and business," Kulshreshtha said.

Scienaptic joins a slew of data analytics startups that have raised funding. Silicon Valley-based big data startup Innovaccer Inc., in August, raised $15.6 million in a Series A round of funding led by Westbridge Capital Partners, with participation by other angel investors.

In July, Data sciences and analytics startup Sagacito Technologies Pvt. Ltd raised funding to push ahead with its expansion plan.

Prior to that, Malaysian sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional Berhad agreed to invest up to $100 million in the India- and US-based Fractal Analytics.

BRIDGEi2i Analytics Solutions Pvt. Ltd raised Series A funding in June and Vahanalytics, which analyses the driving behaviour of Indians, raised seed funding the month before.
