Citi Gets Vikram Sud Back As Head Of Ops & Tech For Asia-Pacific

Banking & financial services major Citi has appointed Vikram Sud as head of operations and technology (O&T) for Asia-Pacific. Vikram will be responsible for managing the bank’s operations, technology and shared services across 18 countries in the region, and will report to Richard Garside, global head of Operations & Technology for the Consumer Group;

Jon Beyman, global head of Operations & Technology, Institutional Clients Group, as well as Shirish Apte and Stephen Bird, joint CEOs of the Asia-Pacific region. Vikram will be initially located in Mumbai, India.

Speaking on the occasion, Shirish Apte and Stephen Bird, joint CEOs of the Asia-Pacific region at Citigroup, said, “We welcome Vikram back to Citi and are confident that his leadership and experience will further strengthen the unit’s key role in supporting the growth of the Asia franchise, achieving our long-term global goals and delivering a superior experience to our clients.”

Sud joins back Citi from Kotak Mahindra Group where he served as the Group Chief Operating Officer since 2006, responsible for managing O&T functions and transaction banking business of the bank and its subsidiaries in India.

Earlier, during his 20-year-long global career with Citibank, Vikram held various senior leadership positions in O&T across various businesses in the bank. He had also served as the CEO and founder of eServe International, Citigroup’s BPO venture in India, which was acquired by Tata Consultancy Services in 2008.
