Indiaâs software services exports have been growing over the years but there have been some reasons to worry of late.
The pace of growth in Indiaâs export of computer software and information technology-enabled services as well as business process outsourcing companies sharply moderated during 2015-16 in US dollar terms, according to a Reserve Bank of India report.
Industry body Nasscom last month cut its growth outlook for export revenue to 8-10% from 10-12% previously for 2016-17 amid global macroeconomic headwinds and weak earnings by Indian IT companies.
Also, the Indian IT industry still relies heavily on the US, which remains the biggest destination for software exports as well as software business by foreign affiliates of local companies, despite some diversification.
