CA Media names Rishi Negi as EVP-investee operations

CA Media, the Asian investment arm of Los Angeles-based entertainment and digital media firm The Chernin Group (TCG), has named Rishi Negi as executive vice president, investee operations. He would be joining CA Media India and will look after operations of the investee and incubated businesses with a focus in areas such as media, entertainment and technology businesses in the country.

“We are happy to have Rishi on board to lead the operations end of our diversified portfolio of operating assets, which include Endemol, Only Much Louder, Graphic India and FLUENCE. While Rishi’s key area of focus will be planning, development and operations management, we will also be leveraging his expertise in evaluating investment opportunities in the fast-growing consumer retail entertainment business,” said, Rajesh Kamat, CEO, CA Media India.

Negi has about eighteen years of experience. Prior to CA Media India, he was serving as the business head of Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) at Reliance Group. He also worked as COO of FAME Cinema’s Multiplexes and Pizza Hut. In addition, Negi served as CEO at Big Picture Hospitality Services, a Shringar Cinemas Group company. Besides, he worked with Taj Group of hotels for 10 years; during this stint, he studied general management at IIM Bangalore. Negi holds a degree in hotel management from Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Mumbai.

“I am excited about my new role at CA Media India. In a short time, the company has acquired significant stakes and has partnered in the success of its investee and incubated businesses, in both the traditional and digital domains,” said Negi.

Recently the company acquired a significant minority stake in Graphic India, a digital comics and animation company focussed on creating mythological and superhero characters, comics and stories for the Indian youth market, published across mobile and online platforms.
