French banking group BNP Paribas SA has appointed Ravinder Singh as the chief executive officer and managing director of BNP Paribas Wealth Management India Pvt. Ltd.
Singh has also been appointed the head of wealth management in India, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
Singh will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the wealth management division with the aim of growing its India operations.
He will report to the head of Indian and international markets, Samir Bimal, as well as BNP Paribas India territory head Franciska Decuypere.
“Ravinder has been instrumental in developing our India onshore wealth management franchise,” Bimal said, adding that Singh’s knowledge of the wealth management segment and the group’s target clients would contribute to its growth in India.
Singh joined BNP Paribas Wealth Management in 2013 and was appointed the head of its India sales division in 2016.
BNP Paribas, one of the world’s largest banks, had more than 377 billion euros in assets under management as of March 2019. The group has a presence in 73 countries and has 1.96 lakh employees, including 17,000 in the Asia-Pacific region.
The group says its professionals provide its clients with a host of wealth management solutions, including advisory, execution and equity and fund investment services.
