Bhartiya Urban, the real estate arm of Gurgaon-based Bhartiya Group, has appointed G Raghavan as CEO. Bhartiya is a diversified lifestyle group founded in 1987 and consists of two verticals—Bhartiya Fashion and Bhartiya Urban. Bhartiya Urban is developing a 125 acre integrated urban township in Bangalore.
G Raghavan will be responsible for all the operations and strategic matters of Bhartiya Urban including the current upcoming Bhartiya City in Bangalore. He has over 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, product management and business development.
Before joining Bhartiya Group, Raghavan was with NIIT Limited where he served for nearly nine years and his last role was that of chief executive for NIIT’s Career Building Solutions at a global level. Prior to NIIT, he was the managing director of Ingram Micro and before that he was the president and executive director of Carrier for 17 years.
Raghavan is an MBA from IIM- Ahmedabad and holds bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in Coimbatore. Raghavan’s experience includes being a member of South Africa’s e-skills Council and being Consultant’ to the Government of Wuxi New District, China.
IL&FS Investment Managers Ltd., which had bought 26 per cent stake in Bhartiya Urban for $57.09 million (Rs 3.25 billion) in 2007, exited the company recently.
