Global management consulting firm The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has appointed Alpesh Shah as the managing director of its Indian business.

Shah will replace Neeraj Aggarwal, who was elevated to the role of BCG’s regional chairman for Asia-Pacific last month.

At the business strategy major, Shah has worked with clients across several sectors including insurance, banking, telecom and private equity across Asia. He also serves on BCG’s global client team.

Shah has been with BCG since 2000. Before joining the company, he was a team leader for consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton in Mumbai.

He holds an MBA degree from Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad.

Founded in 1963, BCG currently has 90 offices in 50 countries.
