Financial services firm Avendus Capital said on Monday it has appointed former Standard Chartered employee Puneet Renjhen as executive director of investment banking.
Renjhen will report to Gaurav Deepak, managing director and head of investment banking at Avendus Capital, it said in a statement.
Renjhen has a decade’s experience in investment banking and was most recently with Standard Chartered. He has previously worked with Citigroup, Kotak Investment Banking and Lazard in their investment banking divisions across London, Singapore, Mumbai and Delhi.
In his previous roles, Renjhen has led advisory and capital raising transactions in excess of $25 billion for large companies including Tata Group, Aditya Birla Group, Larsen & Toubro, Daimler, Vedanta and ST Telemedia.
The appointment will help Avendus focus on bigger and multidimensional transactions, the company said.
“As our brand grows we are finding an increasing number of opportunities to work on larger and more complex transactions. These need single-minded focus and longer sales cycles. Puneet will be working across sectors in collaboration with the sector leads to focus on larger transactions and on requirement of conglomerates,” Deepak said.
The Avendus Group offers financial services in areas of investment banking, wealth management, structured credit solutions and alternative assets management. Avendus Capital Inc in New York and Avendus Capital (UK) Pvt. Ltd in London are wholly owned subsidiaries offering M&A and private equity advisory services.
