Aspire Systems acquires Hyderabad-based IT firm Versant Technologies

Chennai-based technology services firm Aspire Systems Pvt Ltd has completed the acquisition of Versant Technologies Pvt Ltd, a Hyderabad-based technology company for an undisclosed amount, the company said in a release.

The acquisition will enhance Aspire’s existing capabilities for the retail, distribution and consumer goods vertical.

Versant Technologies offers services like Oracle retail practice, EDI practice and software development. The firm has additional offices in US, UK and Saudi Arabia and counts Wipro, Yash Technologies, WetSeal among its clients.

Our comprehensive service offerings for the retail sector combined with Oracle’s leadership position among the world’s top 20 retailers positions us well to capitalize on the $6 billion IT services export market in Retail," said Gowri Shankar Subramanian, chairman and CEO, Aspire Systems.

Founded by Gowri Shankar Subramaniam in 1996, Aspire Systems provides services include product engineering, enterprise transformation, independent testing services and IT infrastructure support services; and having offices in US, UK, Germany and UAE also. The firm has over 1,150 employees and serves 60 clients globally.

In the IT space, most recently Wipro struck its third and largest deal this year by acquiring US-based Opus CMC (Opus Capital Markets Consultants LLC) for $75 million.
