Alternative investor Anicut Capital’s finance chief Ajay Anand, along with two others, has launched Delhi-based law firm Regina Legal focusing on startups and others. Even after the launch, Anand will continue as finance chief at Anicut Capital.
The other two founding partners are Ankita Singh, ex-legal head of Indian Angel Network; and Shikha Bhardwaj, former senior associate at Phoenix Legal.
“Since the team understands the pain points of both startups and investors, it is well equipped to bridge the gaps and early closure, thus pushing to make the funds available to the startups expeditiously,” said Anand in the release.
The law firm aims to offer startup advisory services, according to a release by Regina Legal. The firm also aims to advise clients on corporate commercial transactions, investment structuring, taxation, pre- and post-investment compliance, intellectual property matters and regulatory support.
Regina Legal is currently a three-partner law firm. It has five lawyers on board including the partners.
Anand had a stint as finance chief at Indian Angel Network before joining Anicut Capital in April 2018. He has been a practising lawyer since 2006.
Singh was a senior associate at law firm Lexport, prior to her stint at Indian Angel Network.
Bhardwaj has experience in taxation including Goods and Services Tax and Customs. She had stints at Phoenix Legal, J Sagar Associates, Lexport and Reina Legal.
