Ronnie Screwvala, as he is popularly known, launched the first cable TV network in the country and went on to build a media and entertainment conglomerate which was acquired by The Walt Disney Company in 2012. He is currently the founder and CEO of UTV Group and the managing director at Disney-UTV India.
In his investor avatar, he has set up Unilazer Ventures Ltd, a privately held private equity/venture capital fund focused on agriculture, healthcare, education and e-commerce sectors. The firm invests across stages. Ronnie believes that entrepreneurship will be one of the key drivers in India’s growth story and wishes to part of those who help transform the country into a haven for entrepreneurs.
