Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) India has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Mani Singhal to co-lead its consumer and retail practice in India. This move aligns with A&M’s ongoing efforts to expand its footprint in the sector.
Singhal brings more than two decades of experience in driving growth, strategy, and operational transformation within the consumer and retail industries. Throughout her career, she has worked with a range of organizations, including multinational corporations, promoter-led businesses, and high-growth direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands. Her experience spans optimizing commercial models, driving multi-channel expansion, and adapting to changing consumer trends.
Before joining A&M, Singhal served as managing director and partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she was instrumental in shaping the company’s consumer practice in India. Prior to that, she spent nearly a decade at Accenture Strategy, focusing on execution-driven transformation initiatives.
Founded in 1983, Alvarez & Marsal is a global professional services firm specializing in advisory, business performance improvement, and turnaround management services. The firm serves clients across corporates, boards, private equity firms, law firms, and government agencies.
This appointment adds to A&M’s growing list of senior leadership hires in recent months. Last month, the firm appointed Chandra Prakash Suryawanshi as managing director to lead its disputes and investigations practice. Recently, it also appointed former Accenture executive Akash Kedia to head its healthcare and life sciences vertical.
Additionally, the firm onboarded Saurav Kumar as managing director to oversee its infrastructure and capital projects practice in India. In December, Kunwar Vijayant Singh and Ranajit Sahu joined as managing directors from McKinsey and Accenture Strategy, respectively, to bolster the company’s energy practice.
Earlier, in September, A&M hired Bharat Garg from BCG and Sameer Apte from Accenture Strategy and Consulting as managing directors, and Anjali Chandra as senior director.
